Following is a list of all mushroom species I have identified on our farm, the Bauernhof Kitsteiner.

I will be adding to this list as I am able to confirm the different species on the farm.

 

  1. Bauernhof Bolete** (Xanthoconium purpureum or affine) – still working on identification of this one! – Edible
  2. Bolete spp. (probable Boletus harrisonii) – Non-edible
  3. Common Earthball (Scleroderma citrinum) – Poisonous but non-deadly
  4. Crown-Tipped Coral Fungus (Artomyces pyxidatus or Clavicorona pyxidata) – Edible
  5. Destroying Angel Mushroom (Amanita bisporigera) – DEADLY
  6. Dog Stinkhorn (Mutinus caninus) – Non-edible, non-poisonous
  7. Giant Puffballs (Calvatia gigantea) – Edible
  8. Gem-Studded Puffball (Lycoperdon perlatum) – Edible
  9. Old Man of the Woods Mushrooms (Strobilomyces strobilaceus or Strobilomyces floccopus) – Edible
  10. Russula spp. (likely Emetic Russula, Russula emetica) – Poisonous but non-deadly
  11. Shaggy Mane (Coprinus comatus) – Edible
  12. Polypore spp. (Fomes fomentarius vs Phellinus igniarius vs Phellinus tremulae) – Non-edible, non-poisonous
  13. Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) – Non-edible, non-poisonous
  14. Wood Ear/Judas’ Ear (Auricularia auricula-judae)
